It was not in a boardroom or an NGO office that the Wouapit Foundation was conceived. It was in the quiet, devastating stillness of a hospital room in Amman, Jordan — where Roland Wouapit said goodbye to his infant son, Wouapit Munshikpu Ari-Jamil, who lost his battle with congenital heart disease at Al-Khaldi Hospital in 2011.

Ce n'est pas dans une salle de conseil ou dans un bureau d'ONG que la Fondation Wouapit a été conçue. C'est dans le silence dévastateur d'une chambre d'hôpital à Amman, en Jordanie — où Roland Wouapit a dit au revoir à son fils Wouapit Munshikpu Ari-Jamil, mort d'une cardiopathie congénitale à l'Hôpital Al-Khaldi en 2011.

In the years that followed, Roland built a network of medical partnerships at Al-Khaldi Hospital in Jordan, and with institutions in France, the USA, Canada, and across Europe. Through sheer determination — and the name of his son as a constant compass — he helped hundreds of children from Cameroon and across Africa receive treatment they could not otherwise access. The Foundation in those early years was a movement of the heart: no formal structure, just a father's love turning into action.

The Foundation found new wings when Roland married Karen Nora Muto Tanga Wouapit. A formidable woman in her own right — an elected 1st Deputy City Mayor of Limbe in Cameroon's South West Region, and a successful entrepreneur — Karen brought the organisational vision, political infrastructure, and global connections needed to transform Roland's mission into a multi-dimensional development organisation.

Bimbia — A UNESCO Site at the Heart of Our Work

Karen hails from Bimbia — an Atlantic coastal village near Limbe, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site that carries the weight of Africa's slave trade history within its ruins. Through the Wouapit Foundation, the preservation and revitalisation of Bimbia became a flagship project: restoring structures, funding archaeological surveys, and partnering with MINTOUL and international bodies to position it as a world-class heritage tourism destination.

Karen est originaire de Bimbia — un village côtier atlantique près de Limbé, et Site du Patrimoine Mondial UNESCO qui porte le poids de l'histoire de la traite des esclaves dans ses ruines. Grâce à la Fondation, la préservation et la revitalisation de Bimbia est devenue un projet phare.

The Wouapit Foundation serves as the official Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of Bouquet Innovation SA. This corporate relationship channels business resources, innovation capacity, and entrepreneurial networks into the Foundation's community programmes — giving its work both the scale of a company and the soul of a charity.

La Fondation Wouapit sert de bras officiel de Responsabilité Sociale d'Entreprise (RSE) de Bouquet Innovation SA. Cette relation corporative canalise les ressources d'entreprise, la capacité d'innovation et les réseaux entrepreneuriaux dans les programmes communautaires de la Fondation.
